With our 3rd postdoc we will enter the final phase of PaleoSynthesis – there will be no further calls as part of this project.
We offer a 3-year postdoc position in Paleontology, at the Friedrich-Alexander University, GeoZentrum Nordbayern.
The opening is in the framework of the PaleoSynthesis project funded by the Volkswagen Foundation.
Your tasks
You will provide scientific support for international workshops on paleontological themes. We expect that you are flexible and open-minded as workshops topics will be defined based on a competitive call. You will ensure that publications emerge from these workshops (read more) and coordinate collaborative grant applications.
PaleoSynthesis finances the postdoc for three years (the workplace is at the FAU, Erlangen). After the workshop you are then responsible for at least one further new workshop including scientific organization and publication(s). Workshop proponents can apply for a postdoc position – deadline is June 21st.
Your qualifications
- A PhD in Paleontology or a closely related subject is required and you are in your early career stage.
- You have a strong and diverse background in paleontology and demonstrated the ability to write high-quality publications.
- You have skills in quantitative methods and experience in managing people.
- Your English has a high standard, and you work efficiently and independently.
- Success in grant applications would be an additional merit.
Duration
The position is for 3 years. The preferred starting date is November 1, 2024. The employment will be as Research Associate (full time, wage agreement E 13 TV-L, Bavaria).
